We are a reading family. There is no other family activity that I can think of that has racked in more time together than reading as a family. I love to compile all the Christmas books and stories I can find and read one each night to the kids during the month of December. Last year my brother-in-law, Tim, made that really easy for me.
Way back in 1993 when I was still in High School and Ken and I had yet to meet. Tim gave his family a wonderful Christmas gift. It was a compilation of Christmas stories put together in one book. It is set up to read one each day from December 1st - December 24th, ending with the story of Christ's birth found in Luke Chapter 2.
Over the years I have seen this little red book floating around the house. I have even pulled it out and read a few stories on different occasions, but not until last year did I pull it out and read it to my kids.
Last year I discovered what I fun treasure this little book really is. We had such an enjoyable time as a family sharing the stories of Christmas together.
Even though it was given as a gift years before I entered the Roberts family, last year I felt like I got that same gift all over again. I love that is was given by Ken's brother. And I love that it is a gift that we can keep on enjoying each Christmas season. It's heart-warming stories help remind me of the true meaning of CHRIST-mas.

Nancy, I have spent soooo much of my time today catching up on your blog! I'm so, so sorry to hear about your little Zachary. I know our experiences are different, but I have also experienced a lot of grief in the last 2 years, and my heart breaks knowing the hurt you've been through.
I'm so excited to read about your weight loss!! Yay to have another supporter/motivator! I need all the help I can get and now I'm all kinds of excited to read your update tomorrow! This journey to healthy is HARD! But it is worth it. Reading through your weigh in posts has me motivated to fit the workouts in. That's where I struggle most. But it's going to be my priority this week! Thanks for the motivation! :)
Anyway, hope all is well with the Roberts family and that you are all enjoying a very merry Christmas season! Hopefully we'll talk soon!! :)
