Stuff and Things Like That...

Here are a few misc. things that I have been meaning to post.

I know that many of you are wondering how that adorable baby of mine is doing...so I'll tell you. He is wonderful! Wanna see?

He is getting so big and strong, he is a little over 11 lbs. He used to have a slight resemblance to a melon on a toothpick, but not so much now that he is getting some chubs on his long legs. He holds his head up and pushes up on his legs. He smiles and almost laughs. His hair has a strong red tint to it, and his eyes are big and blue. Kissing his cheeks sends warm tingles down my spine. He really is precious!

Here is a picture of my three little men...I through it in just because I like it. Aren't they handsome?

Sydney went to Clear Creek last week for an overnighter with the 5th grade girls. They left Thursday and came back Friday. She was so excited. She did all her packing herself (a week early). She really had a great time. This is the only time Sydney has ever slept away from home without mom & dad. Truthfully I was a little nervous to let her go, but I know I need to let her grow-up. Sydney has actually has a lot of 'firsts' lately. She got her first stick of deodorant for Christmas. She had her first zit a few weeks ago. And now her first sleepover. Heaven help me my baby is growing up!

Last week I spent three days canning chicken. I'm feeling a need to stock up on my food storage. I was able to can 72 pints. That was 80 lbs. of chicken. I have also been taking advantage of some grocery sales. It feels good to stock up. I love a good deal and I love a full pantry.

That's it for now...it's taken me way too long to post this amongst the constant flurry of chaos in my house.

Ty's Party

Yesterday was Tyler's birthday party. I was a little nervous about having a house full of boys, because boys are crazy! But, I think I have decided that I like boys parties better than girls...girls wine and pout and are harder to please, boys are wild, but they just play and have a great time together, without fits. I like that. Here's some pics from Ty's party...

We played lots of games...freeze dance...bingo...pin the tail on the donkey...this one is a gift exchange (like white elephant). This is the whole gang. Sydney and Kaylie made the sign above their heads...you can't see all of it..but it says, Happy Birthday, Tyler! They did it all by themselves. I thought it was sweet.Speaking of 'sweet' here's his camouflage cake and ice-cream.Ty got lots of cool gifts from his friends. This is his new bike from mom and dad. He also got a new suit for his baptism, which I just realized we forgot to give him...I guess he'll get that tonight.

I think Ty and his friends had a good time. I'm glad we did it and glad it's over!

Ty Guy turns EIGHT!

Yesterday Tyler turned 8! I can't believe it. He is growing so fast. He will be baptized at the end of this month and he is so excited. He is also excited for cub scouts. Tomorrow he'll have his first 'friends B-Day party'. In our family we usually do family parties, but on big years like 8,12, and 16 we give them the choice of a friends party. He is also looking forward to that. Yesterday he got to go to dinner with just mom & dad, which is something we all enjoyed.
Tyler is a super fun little boy. He is sensitive and loving, and also spastic and hilarious. Tyler we are very proud of you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LITTLE MAN!

A Little Mean...but SO Funny!

McKenna is a little junk food junkie (she takes after her father). She knows where we usually stash the goods, so she stood under the cupboard grunting and signing 'more'. I knew what she wanted, but we didn't have anymore, so I looked in the Halloween bowl to see what was left. I got a devilish idea when I saw the 'warheads-extreme SOUR lemon'. Oh, the joys of parenthood! I gave her one, and she loved it....see for yourself.

Ok, I need some Clarification...

Yesterday I discovered a whole new side of blogging...and honestly...I don't get it!

But first let me explain why I blog...I love record keeping. I scrapbook and I keep many different journals (not faithfully). For me these things are a way for me to do my family history. I love blogging because I can record the everyday, the random, the important and the unimportant, anything I want and it's so easy! I blog about things I would never take the time to scrapbook (this for instance). I love that I can keep up to date with my friends and family and they can keep up with me. But mostly I just blog for ME. It is a nice release for me when I get to rant & rave, and when I am not ranting and raving it gives me a chance to reflect on how seriously blessed I am.

Which brings me to the reason for this post...Yesterday I was doing a little blog surfing...I ran across a popular blog called "Seriously so Blessed". It made me think of me sister who is a self-proclaimed hater of those "perfect family" blogs. Which is why I think she boycotted mine. I'll know if she doesn't leave me a comment. I'll KNOW, Heather! Anyway...I got a little side tracked...back to "Seriously so Blessed"...I got curious and began to read...Whoa, this lady is funny, I thought. A little weird (she spells funny) and probably a little too racy for me (she watches reality TV, with her husband and calls it FHE)...then oh, look...little baby twin widgets floating around on the side, how exciting, I thought. Then I read on...And guess what!...It's all fake...everything...it's probably written by some old, bald, fat guy with a great sense of humor. It's just a funny spoof on mormon women, and mormon women love it... Why, I ask?...I'm really not getting it. Am I just an uptight, perfect mormon mom wanna-be, who needs to lighten up? Okay, nobody answer that question! But somebody please explain...What is the point?

Heather and Aunty Em I am expecting a comment, because I know you two know about this stuff...anyone else please enlighten...are all the funny ones fake? Please...I need some reality if I'm going to read about someone elses crazy life and feel any sort of relief...or better yet maybe I'll stick to my own blog list...some of my friends and family have enough "REAL" crazy to make me feel just fine. ;)

2008...A year at a Glance.

I decided to flip through last years calendar to remember what exciting things happened in the Robert's home in 2008. Here's what I found....

January-It's completely blank. That's because I never buy a new calendar until they are at least 50% off. I'm way cheap, but I prefer to use the word thrifty.

February-Still completely blank. I must have been going nuts at this time last year, because I really hate not having a calendar up...Oh, wait... I remember I was using the free one you get at tithing settlement...you know...the one from the mortuary. I guess unless you were in my ward you wouldn't know. Whatever!

Where are all my Christmas cards?

Are people not mailing cards this year, or do people just not like us? I have gotten 4 total this season. I know we moved, but what's up? Mail forwards, so no excuses. I am expecting a huge bundle of forwarded Christmas cards from all my friends to show up in my mail box one of these days, soon, very soon, or else! (I don't know what the "or else" will be, but there will be an or else.)

P.S. I just mailed mine two days ago. :) Well half of them, I need more stamps...family don't expect yours for a few days.
