The last few days have been like deja' vu because our little 4 week old Aftyn now has RSV. She has been sick with cold like symptoms since Monday. Ken and I took her into the pediatricians last night and today they confirmed that she does have RSV. One great thing that hospitals have now that they didn't have 8 years ago is a bronchiolitis outpatient clinic. We were able to take Aftyn to the hospital to get suctioned out then bring her home with us instead of leaving her in the neo-natal intensive care unit like we had to do with Emma (Aftyn is not nearly as bad as Emma by the way) She is actually doing pretty well, considering she's sick. It's enough to scare me but not send me panicking as of yet. Poor little girl also has an ear infection. She had to have a shot of antibiotic last night and another again today. So sad...it broke my heart to see her hurting. She held her breath for about 15 seconds before she could calm down enough to breathe. I think she is doing a little better today but the doctor said that days 8 & 9 are sometimes the worst so she will most likely get worse before she gets better. She stills only weighs 6lbs. 11 oz. (her birth weight). I guess she burns alot of calories eating, sleeping, and pooping.
Oh, I don't like seeing my babies sick. :( :( :(

Oh, your poor precious Aftyn. Now I know why your sweet Kaylie was so upset at the science fair last night. I was wondering. I hope that Aftyn feels better soon. I remember when Emma had RSV...that was so scary.
Wow, I guess I have to be grateful too that they did things different too. Theron also had RSV, and had to do the same thing. It was SOO scary. That is so odd that things are the same timing. This baby Aftyn is a fighter. I'm so sorry you have to deal with a sick new baby, that's so hard. I hope things turn for the positive for you and your family. Your family is in our prayers. LOVE YOU GUYS.
Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry. RSV is scary stuff. Hang in there!
This brought back so many memories. My baby boy was also hospitalized with RSV about 11 years ago. He almost died too and now has permanent damage to his lungs. I am so glad to hear that they have improved in the medical care in this area. She is so tiny in that picture. I hate seeing sick babies. I hope she gets better soon.
My prayers are with your sweet baby.
I can't imagine how scary and how heart breaking it must have been to see your sweet baby so sick and have to go through so much at such a fragile age. I pray that she is recovering well.
oh, sweet baby. Just have Emma show her how to use that spunk to get better! We'll add our prayers to yours!
Poor baby!! I hope she gets better soon!
I can't believe it's been 8 years since Emma was at PC. It was a scary time and I felt so bad for you guys. Poor little Aftyn! She looks so little on that table.
7 wow, you are amazing. One sick usually means they will all get sick. I only have 4 so I can imagine how much you do! Thanks for the intrigue/glimpse of your world thru your eyes! Off to my next proxy-adventure/blog. See you around!
