Sydney's Birthday!!!

Sydney turned 10 today! Tonight at dinner Ken said, "Ten years ago last night (that's when my water broke) our lives changed forever." Boy was that right! Life has been in fast forward ever since. Ten years ago today I did the hardest thing I've ever done...give birth! Ouch! But, Sydney is worth every minute of that 24 hour torture! She has been such a blessing in our lives.

All day long Ken and I kept looking at her thinking she grew-up a few years overnight. She doesn't look 10. She is growing up too fast. She is so excited about her birthday. Last night she must have said at least 10 times, "I can't believe tomorrow I'll be 10!" Ya, me either, I kept thinking.
We started her birthday on Saturday by taking her to the store to pick out a new "big" bike. She is so thrilled it has hand brakes and gears.

Ken also took the kids to Dollar Tree yesterday, they each wanted to buy Sydney something just from them. Ken let them pick out 3 things each. They wrapped them by themselves, it was really fun to see them get excited for Sydney. And Sydney loved the things they picked out. Sydney is really easy to please, and is always grateful. That is something I am so grateful for.

After church we had Sydney's choice of dinner; hamburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, chips, and grapes. Then we sang Happy Birthday, and busted into the cake. Sydney helped me bake and frost the cake, she loves cooking.

After cake we had one last gift from Ken and I, and her cards from the Grandparents. She got some scrapbook goodies. Syd loves crafts and especially scrapbooking. I love that she loves that! When she opened her cards from her grandparents she automatically figured how much tithing she needed to pay. She is so grown up. I love that she makes good choices.

We finished our birthday celebrations by playing cards together.
Happy Birthday, Sydney! We love you and are proud of the beautiful young women you are becoming.

She has grown soo fast. I remember when we were first in the ward and she was 5 with Austin. How weird. I can't believe they're both in 5th grade. I guess time fly's by when we're having fun. Happy Birthday Sydney :)
