My Gratitude Goal...

A few Sundays ago was dry-council Sunday, only it wasn't dry it was really good. The High Councilman spoke on gratitude and I have thought alot about it since. It was mentioned that when we express our gratitude for our blessings we become more aware of the hand of the Lord in our lives. I have a new goal to express more gratitude. Each Monday I will post my gratitude journal for the week.

In President Eyring's conference talk last year he mentioned an impression he received from the Lord about his experiences not being for him, but to write them down for his posterity and others. I loved that talk. I am not writing these things down for others but for myself. It is a selfish goal, and I'm sure not of much interest to you. But I know it will bless me, and I like blessings.

I am not the most optimistic person sometimes, but it is a battle I wish to overcome. I have seen negativity destroy people like a poison. It is like a cancer that sucks the life out of you and those around you. I feel negativity suffocating me at times, keeping me from feeling the Spirit and making me miserable. I have a new goal to be positive, to be grateful and to acknowledge the little blessings in my life that I have taken for granted.

Monday will be my first "gratitude journal" entry. Stay posted to see the Roberts blessings both big and small.

Your first Gratitude post can be about how much you are grateful you can be the sister of such a wonderful, handsome, awesome, and humble brother like me.

That is just what I was thinking! Hey by the way, what does cal stand for. Sydney and I were just discussing it and didn't come up with anything good.

Awesome, maybe you'll rub off on me. I think you were maybe thinking a little of me when you were talking about negativity. I need to work on that for sure. Thanks for letting me be excited for your Mondays. :)

I thought it had 9 bedrooms. Now there's no way I'll consider it. Deal's off!!!! Get me a job up there and I'll be up there in a heartbeat:) By the way I like your hair and you need to post something on your blog Heather, I don't care if you got stinking raspberries to pick, can or whatever. By the way my birthday is coming up in a little over a month (September 7). You can all show how grateful you are for me by purchasing me a lot of chocolate and soda. Don't forget its SEPTEMBER 7. I like caffeine free pepsi and symphony with or without toffee. Again thats SEPTEMBER 7. I'll remind all of you when it gets closer:) Ken

He said "be grateful" NOT greedy....Didn't your high council-man teach you that? Or even your Momma? and I don't remember any special delivery at my door on my birthday...which BTW was MAY 20....
We'll see if you get a half drinkin' caffine free pepsi and a symphony bar Wrapper.....

You all are hilarious!!! I love reading your coments to each other. It makes me lol and my kids always ask why I'm laughing. I love reading the blog but I also love reading the comments. I feel like I'm intruding because I'm not part of the family but I don't care because it's great entertainment. I need more laughs, so please keep commenting to the blogs.

You may not be part of the family Shelly, but your not exempt from the pop and symphony:)REMEMBER THATS SEPTEMBER 7. As for you Heather, I recall sharing a few M&M's at the family reunion. I'm pretty sure that I even gave you a sip of one of my drinks.....maybe not come to think of it. That's beside the point though. I'm pretty sure that I also had the thought cross my mind on May 20 "I think it's Heather's Birthday. I should probably call her and say 'happy birthday'.......Actually I don't think I remembered your birthday at all. Sorry:( But you should be the better person anyway, I'm just a guy. Just kiddin heather, love ya. Ken

Ok I have to jump in here, My birthday was the last one in the family and I don't remember getting a sip of soda, a m&m shell or even a sniff of the empty bag, nothing , and I'm everyone's favorite! but I digress, let's remember what's important here... And that is how grateful you are for me. :)

I think ken and nancy need to make their own seperate log in names too so we know who's making what comments to whom, so we're not so confused.

Nancy, or Ken which ever of you was asking (see seperate log in names), Cal came from justin( the nickname king) I used to call him JD for J ustin
D avid and i think thats where cal's origin is from C raig AL len

Okay Cal, this is how you know who's making a comment. If it does not say Ken on the bottom it is from me. But I will work on getting us to different names as soon as I figure out how.

And BTW for your birthday you got your very own blog post which I have not done for anyone but you. Feel special!

I think I remember...the whole 5 M&M's I got.....But do you remember? That I slaved away over the hot fire making you dutch oven "toffee brownies" and homemade "rocky road ice-cream" while we were camping....You seem to forget .... Abd BTW Craig I was gonna send you a sock for your birthday......
