...well not a whole day, just a few crazy, head spinning hours of it.
Wednesday's are always a little busy at our house as with most days, but add a birthday on top of it and it gets down right crazy.
Here is a glance at our last night's schedule:
4:30 Start preping dinner
4:45 Pick-up Ken at work (I had his car because we used his lunch break to go grocery shopping so to save time I dropped him off. Had to go back to the store later because I forgot the ice-cream) :(
5:00 BBQ hotdogs - sit down for Todd's b-day dinner
5:20 Sydney arrives home from a trip to the temple
5:30 Todd opens his presents.
5:40 We sing "Happy Birthday" and scarf down cake and ice-cream.
5:45 Ken leaves for class
6:00 Tyler has pack mtg. (Kids are nowhere ready to go so I throw Daric and McKenna in the car with the intention of dropping Ty off and returning home to clean up dinner. When I got to the church I remember that Tyler was getting his arrow of light award, guilt sets in and I realize a parent should be there to see him get his big award. So I fly home, drop off McKenna and Daric, pick-up Aftyn, leave Kaylie in charge and head back to the church. I also feeling guilty that everyone is leaving on Todd's birthday but no worries, he is a happy camper playing with his new toys.
6:15 Sydney has volleyball practice
6:45 Ty and I leave pack mtg. early
6:50 I have a 10 minute break and ask Todd if he wants to go throw around his new football. He says, no because he doesn't want it to get dirty. Later he played with Tyler then came in and cleaned it with a wet wipe. Funny kid! So, instead of football I put Daric to bed.
6:58 Ken gets home from class
7:00 Ken and Sydney have YM/YW's - Kaylie and Emma have activity days
7:05-7:45 my friend stops by for a visit
7:50 I lay Aftyn down
8:00 Pick up Emma and Kaylie from activity days
8:30 Sydney and Ken get home
8:30-9:30 Direct kid traffic, some go to bed, some do their reading, some visit about their day.
9:30-11:00 Ken and I do homework.
11:00 bedtime (sort-of, felt more like I wrestled kids all night)
6:30am Wake-up and start all over again!!!
Tonight will be a lot the same. Minus the birthday, throw in some parent teacher conferences, it's all good. Whoo-ee, makes me tired just thinking about it, but I couldn't be more grateful for every single minute of it. Well, maybe not EVERY single minute, but MOST, definitely MOST.

You make me tired just reading that. And that day just didn't end, it kept right on going till morning. Hopefully you got a nap in today.
Oh, I love this post. We have SO MANY days like this. I can totally relate to the I-love-how-full-and-meaningful-my-life-is part AND the boy-I-really-need-a-minute-to-breathe-and-SLEEP part. Hang in there, Nancy, you're AMAZING!!!
