Today I had an appointment with Maternal/Fetal Medicine for an ultrasound. My last ultrasound was 6 weeks ago when I was 18 week along. At that point Aftyn looked good, but there were some things the doctor couldn't see very well and wanted to do a follow-up ultrasound just to make sure everything was okay.
I have been a little nervous and anxious about this ultrasound. I felt like everything was going fine, but after losing a child you tend to be a little gun shy of potential bad news.
I am SO happy to report that everything looks good. Aftyn is growing normal and everything looks just as it should.
She looks like a gymnast. During the ultrasound she had her arms up over face and her legs pulled up over her head. Her nose just about touched her knee's and her feet extended well beyond her head. We saw her open her mouth and swallow. She looks just perfect.
It was also nice for me to see Zachary. I didn't know exactly where he was anymore and was concerned that he was right in Aftyn's line of fire. But he is actually higher up and out of the way of her kicks for now, which gives me relief. Aftyn is now the lower twin which makes her twin A and Zachary twin B (it changes depending on their position...I just found that out). So if that stays the same, Aftyn is in line to be born first, then our little angel baby will bring up the rear. I actually think of Zachary as the big brother (strange, I know), but it looks as if he will be the caboose.
This is me on Saturday, at officially 24 weeks pregnant.

You look GREAT Nancy! And I'm so glad that Aftyn is doing well - what a relief. Side note: I have to tell you that your kids are so adorable. I just love the way they'll wave or say "Hello" as they pass my house on the way home. They have a such a good spirit about them - like their Mom!
Thanks for the post. I love hearing how you and Aftyn are doing. I think it is so sweet that Zachary is her big brother. He is watching over her for sure. I'm so glad that everything is going well. It won't be long before we get to meet Afton and I am excited for you.
BTW: You do know you are suposed to gain weight when you are pregnant and not loose it right?lol You have such a beautiful pregnant glow. Very nice picture.

I'm glad everything is going well for baby Aftyn. I love ultrasounds, because you get to see there personality already starting to show. It looks like Aftyn is going to be a flexible sweetheart. And you are looking so good by the way.
