Now You've Really Got to be Kidding Me!

Building a guest house onto the back of the hospital is beginning to sound like not a bad idea. We spend so much time there I think we could save of gas of we just start camping out.

YES! We were at the ER again today. This time it was McKenna getting stitches. I didn't realize that Sydney had gotten out my sewing box and left it out on the pool table. Todd and McKenna went down to watch cartoons after breakfast. Of course, my stuff was too hard for them to resist so they began to help themselves to the contents of the sewing box. One of which was a very sharp rotary cutter I use to cut fabric. I'm not exactly sure how it happened but between Todd and McKenna trying to figure out how it worked, McKenna ended up getting her hand sliced near the thumb.

Here is a glimpse of ER trip #5, in the last 5 weeks.

McKenna was SO, SO brave. And I must say, so was I. Ken is out of town in Florida this week so I handled this one solo, and although I wanted to cry a few times I didn't. I held myself together while my baby was being sewn back together. One positive thing that came out of this was the big "THANK YOU" I received from the ER staff for keeping them in business. Hey, what can I say..."YOUR WELCOME"! Your jobs are safe with the Robert's kids in town. No worries!

Holy cow! That's quite the cut! You're brave to look at it...long enough to take a photo of it. I hope she's feeling better soon. No more ER trips for you guys!

I think it's so funny that you weren't sure about my post about my surgery and the picture I was going to post with it...That one is a pretty graphic one ;)

I'm so proud of you. That makes me want to cry thinking about one of my kids getting a hold a my rotary cutter. It's amazing that she didn't get hurt worse. Those things are MEGA sharp. It's great that your getting this whole ER thing down. Some parents wouldn't know what to do if they had to do an ER trip :) Your just mastering it is all.

Wow what a cut! Huge gaping hole more like it! Hope McKenna gets better soon. I'm so sorry---I must say what an awesome mom you are because we had to take Ammon to the E.R. two nights in a row now (actually Scott took him by himself last night) and it is so much easier with husband support. So kudos to you! Here's hoping for no more E.R. trips!

You need to stop taking the kids out for ice cream after the ER visits or what ever it is that you are doing to make them want to go back week after week. They are really going to some drastic measures to get their turn in the ER...I mean look at that gash. You can see the innerds of her hand. That was really bad. Poor little girl. She looked really brave though. I'm so sorry you had to do this one on your own, that is really tough when you know it is going to hurt them. I will be on edge waiting to see if you post yet another ER trip next week. I really hope you don't have to.

My wife has one of those rotary cutters. My heart just stopped at the thought my kids getting hold of it. I just went and put it up VERY high. :-)

Goodness Gracious!!! One seriously brave girl and one Way-to-keep-it-together-Mom!!!

I think you've filled your quota on hospital trips now, you'll should be able to avoid it for the next 10 years!

That is on nasty picture. That is not just a cut! Wrap your kids in packing bubbles from head to toe and then send them out to play. :)
