On June 25th, McKenna turned one! We had a great day with her. We saved our pinata from the family reunion and did that in the backyard. Fun! Even McKenna got in a few hits. She opened her gifts-which mostly consisted of things the kids made or found around the house. I bought her things like new sippers and rubber bands for her hair. Not exciting, but what does a one year old need? Anyway I think Syd felt sorry for her and began wrapping other gifts, the rest of the kids joined and she made out pretty well with their old toys.
And then there was cake and boy did she enjoy it! See for yourself.
Eventually all you could see was blue eyes sticking out of a mass of chocolate. Needless to say we ended her birthday celebration with a nice warm bath.

That was a sweet birthday for a sweet little girl. I'm glad that she didn't get scared of touching the cake and really got into it. I love those cake pictures.
