Mother's Day

Some mothers are not big fans of Mother's Day, but I love it. My children and husband spoil me. And I get to celebrate my job, being a Mom. It's the most important thing I do, and I feel so privileged to be trusted with seven of Heavenly Father's precious children. They are awesome kids. I am so lucky to be their mother.

Yesterday was a wonderful day. I hope everyone else enjoyed being spoiled and felt honored to be a mother.

Six Months Already!

Yesterday was Daric's six month birthday. Oh, how time flies. He has been such a good, happy, fun baby. We are so blessed. I didn't expect to have him so quickly, but now I couldn't imagine life without him. Everyday I get to kiss and squeeze a little piece of heaven. A few days ago I took him for his 6 month check-up. He was 75% in height and 25% in weight.
I guess he is tall and skinny, but as you can see he has some chubs. I think he is just perfect.

Crop Till You Drop!

This weekend my friend Tish and two of my sisters, Ann and Julianna (we missed you Heather) went to a 24 hour scrapbook retreat. We were memory preserving maniacs! We got lots done and had lots of fun! I finished 21 pages and 8 cards. I was the slow poke, but oh well, it got me back in the groove and I will be scrapbooking on a regular basis again. I love this hobby, it's totally guiltless. In fact I'm sure if there was 11 "official" commandments #11 would be...Thou shalt scrapbook, alot! It is a great way to preserve family history, and have a great time in the process. Here are some pics from the weekend...Don't be jealous!;) Next time come with! This is Julianna and Ann, they completed over 30 pages. And they were so cute! Me and Tish. Tish is a great friend of mine. She is a BIG snorer, but still I love ya, thanks for coming. Next year I'll remember the ear plugs! :)

We did sleep a little. Actually I am suffering from a "not enough sleep" hangover today, but it was so worth it.Here is my finished projects. Yeah, for me! I had a great weekend, Thanks Sista's. Can't wait to play again!

Our Spring Break

Spring break started out awesome...we slept in...some of us stayed in jammies all day long and just took a day to relax and play. Tuesday was alot like Monday with a little cleaning mixed in. Wednesday we planned a picnic, but that didn't happen because Wed. was not so Spring-ish. It looked more Winter-ish. And all that blasted snow broke my tree. Darn it!
Ken took Thursday and Friday off of work and we planned to go to Idaho, but plans changed so we found some fun things around town to do. Thursday and Friday we spent time down at BYU going through their free museums. We took the kids to the Art museum and then the Bean Museum.Thursday we went to the Dinosaur museum. And had a picnic near the Provo Temple.Saturday was to be our trip to Goblin Valley, but again we changed plans and decided to stay in town. We took the kids swimming, which they loved...then to lunch...then did some bowling.
Sunday after church we finally did get out of town...not far. We went up to Temple Square and enjoyed the gorgeous weather and beautiful flowers.

That is our Spring Break in a nut shell. It was really fun. Now we're all getting excited for Summer vacation.

Daric's First (Not MOM Made) Grub

For weeks after we brought Daric home from the hospital whenever I was feeding him Emma would begin her sentences with...Mom when you're done milking him can you...then proceed to ask for what she needed. I tried to explain that it was not me milking him, he was milking ME! And could we please call it something else...feeding, nursing, anything but milking. I was already feeling a bit too much like a cow. Sigh...Anyways.

Yesterday Daric began to fuss, he was hungry and although I love the fact that MY body can sustain HIS life at that moment I did not feel like being "milked". So I thought I'd see what he thought of rice cereal. It started out a little like this....

He was not a huge fan right off the bat. But, eventually we ended up like this...

Everything that went in came immediately out, but at least he wasn't crying. I think he may just learn to like rice cereal. Oh, my little baby is growing up.

Easter Photos

We had a great Easter weekend. Ken's brothers family was here for their spring break. We were able to have a nice dinner together, as well as Tami's family. We did all of our "bunny" Easter stuff on Saturday so that on Sunday we could just focus on Christ and His Resurrection. Ken spoke in church, however after two other speakers and two musical numbers, Ken was left with 3 minutes. He basically just bore his testimony. But he did a beautiful job. He was grateful for the opportunity to study about the Savior, even if he didn't get to share his talk. Here are some pics from the weekend...

Friday night we decorated eggs.

Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt in the front yard. I kept waiting for the weather to get better, but it never did. So I think it was about 8 o'clock before we finally did it. But, no worries...we were all busy grooving to American Idol on the Wii. We ROCK...sorry no photos.

Here are the kiddies on Sunday before church.

I forgot to take a picture of Daric, so here is one from a few days ago.And here is the whole clan...I forgot to get pictures of then with their Easter baskets, but here's something fun the Easter bunny brought.
Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny did not bring it assembled. It took two men three hours to put together. The kids have had a lot of fun playing on their new helicopter teeter-totter.

A Nice Weekend

We had a great time watching Conference this weekend. It's such a spiritual boost to be able to hear from our Prophet and other General Authorities. There messages are so timely and applicable to our lives.

When I was a kid I thought that General Conference was the Prophet's way of giving us a day off from church for being good. Now I know it is so much more, and I look forward to it every six months.

After the last Sunday session we went for a drive to the Provo Temple. Here are a few pics...
Those eight people are my very most favorite people in the whole world. I am so lucky!
