I'm not a professional photographer, I'm just a mom with a camera who likes to take pictures of her kids.
I almost decided to forgo Daric's birthday photo shoot because his birthday was a few weeks ago, and well, Daric doesn't always cooperate. (I know you're all shocked, right!?)
But the boy is just too darn cute and I just couldn't resist.
This was the FUNNIEST photo shoot I have EVER done.
At first I was frustrated because Daric absolutely just does his own thing and will NOT listen to instructions. Then I decided that I better just go with HIS flow and get whatever pictures I could get.
I am still laughing inside just thinking about it.
This is him dancing.
At first I couldn't get him to stand still. After I finally got him to stop movin' and groovin'......
I got this...Boring! I liked the dancing better.
Care for a cha' of tobaca?
This was a familiar scene. He was way too interested in this truck. I had to pry his little body off the ground more times than I want to count.
"Mom, are you done yet?"
"Hey, maybe if I don't look at her she'll go away".
"Hey, distracted boy, do you think you could look my way?"
"Hey, Lady, you talkin' ta me?"
Now for a brief intermission...
a few errands and one change of pants later...
we begin again...
I'm either NUTS or just needed a GOOD laugh.
Aw, now he's melting my heart.
I just want to kiss that face!
But wait...there's more...
Here comes the faces.
He thinks he's so funny.
I tend to agree...sometimes.
After another brief intermission of sword fighting with the tree and dancing karate moves.
He moves on to hide and go seek.
"I'm hiding mom, can you still see me?"
He looks rather angelic in this picture, don't cha' think?
Don't be fooled, he's really just tapping his chin thinking about his next big move.
And there's the stick. Again.
Okay, moving on to the backyard...
maybe he'll be less distracted.
NOT!
Nope that didn't happen.
We need to work a bit on our communication. Apparently when I said, "Daric, go up and stand by the shed." he heard something like this..."Daric, please go up and show me your incredible ninja skills."
More hide and go seek.
Sorry son, putting yourself in timeout will NOT make me go away.
It was all fun and games until we got into the backyard and I asked him to sit on a rock.
I even told him it was an Army rock and would make him look like the coolest Army guy ever. He wasn't falling for it.
He found a gun in the tree. How could I compete with that.
I couldn't.
So I shot while he shot.
I never got him to sit on the rock.
But I did get him to pout behind it.
Then I threatened to tickle him with a stick.
Fine, sit behind the rock. What eve', I like it better this way anyway. So, ha!
Handsome lil' guy.
"Daric, look at me."
"LOOK AT ME!"
"WHAT!?!"
"How 'bout a smile, huh?"
Oh, a smile...too bad mommy doesn't have the camera in focus.
Let's try again.
Oh, thank you son. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
You made my day...you funny little stinker.
Are you all exhausted yet?
I am!
Try keeping up with this guy everyday!
It's no easy task, I'll tell you that.
Can't believe I got to be the lucky one. (No sarcasm intended)
I am SO in LOVE. I am such a LUCKY lady.
Love you, Love you, Lil' Man.
