Roberts Happenings

I haven't blogged in a few weeks, I've sort of had "bloggers block". I can't think of anything interesting enough to blog about and I've lacked the motivation to care too much. So this is a "catch up" post of lots of different little things happening in our lives.
* First Tyler got his braces off. He was counting down the days for weeks.

*Todd lost a tooth. That makes three so far. He also had some dental work done. Not a fun experience for him. Not so fun for me either.

* I didn't get any pictures but I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Ken and the kids made one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. No joke. It was delish! The kids and Ken spoiled me and I had a wonderful day. I LOVE being a mommy!

*Todd and I have been playing a little bit of checkers lately. Although I kick his trash (I'm not one of those mom's that will throw a game to make their child feel good, no way. I'm out to win. Game on!) Todd likes to trash talk. After jumping me on one of his turns he says, "Ha Ha, Sucka!" Another time I took my turn and he replies, "Oh, that was a good move, BUT not good enough" then he proceeds to jump my piece. He is funny. Near the end of the game when he can see he's not going to win he'll try to resort to cheating but I catch him every time. Ha Ha, sucka!

*We sold the Burb. I actually got a little emotional as I watched my old friend drive away. Aaaahhh, the Burb will be missed.

*Ken's job is stupid. Stupid as in they are way behind in payroll kind of stupid. We have been playing a stupid game of..."Hmmm...I wonder when or IF we are ever going to get paid" since January. It's a stupid game and we don't want to play it right now so Ken filed for temporary unemployment until his stupid job can catch up on payroll. We are not unemployed. Ken still has a stupid job that he loves by the way. He's hoping to be back at work full-time shortly when his job stops being stupid. In the mean time I am looking for a part-time, temporary job. It's a bit intimidating since I haven't had a job in 13 years. If anyone has any brilliant ideas let me know, please.

*Okay, this was funny...Ken was starting the BBQ the other day and a big flame shot out. He totally fried the front of his hair. It was as flame broiled as our burgers. This is only funny because he didn't get hurt, I probably wouldn't have laughed if he really got burned. At least I hope I wouldn't. I do have a tendency to laugh at his expense. What does that say about me? Ah, don't answer that.

*We did NOT make it through May without taking a trip to the ER. On Sunday Kaylie started having a hard time breathing. She was trying so hard to breathe that she was getting dizzy and couldn't talk. She was actually hyperventilating but I didn't realize it at the time. Ken and I took her to the hospital and found out that she has pneumonia. She has been home chillin' from school this week.

*Yesterday I had to take Kaylie into the doctors for a follow-up check. I decided to make it worth the drive and have a few of the other kids checked out too. Syd's knee, Aftyn's ears, Ty's throat...etc. Everyone checked out ok. My little Aftyn (4 months old) now weighs 10 lbs. 6 oz. that is the exact size as Todd on the day he was born. Kinda crazy!

*I'll be going back to UVU in the fall. I just registered for part-time online classes. And I changed my major from business management to behavioral science which I am really excited about. Ken is taking summer classes right now and may be finishing up in the fall. Wah-hoo!! It may be one more semester if he decides to double major. He has enough credits for 4 degrees it seems. That's why he's so smart!

*One last random thing to add to the list of other random things. I am having blog whoa's and need some advice. A while back I was getting a lot of international viewers. I don't mind who reads this blog, but I started feeling a little nervous about some of the sickos that are lurking out there. So I changed my settings so that my blog wouldn't be found by google. But I think somehow my blog is now connected to some German search engine and I have had a few unsavory viewers. Perhaps it's my own fault since my last blog title was called "Naked Cuteness" I guess some people got the wrong idea. Oops. Sorry folks, no naked cuties older than one on this blog. Didn't mean to disappoint...you sickos. So does anyone know if you can block certain visitors? I really don't want to go private. I am trying to avoid that, but I may have to. Any suggestions?

*Oh, one more last thing. Here are some pics of my beauties.

This is us throwing caution to the wind and eating out.

Just in case you were wondering...11 year olds do still play dress-up.

Who wouldn't want to kiss that face?

It's a starring contest.

Um...Precious!

That flower is as big as her head, but that is improvement. It was once much bigger than her head.

Mista Gangsta with his air soft gun.

This is my fabulous girl who insisted on watching all the kiddos on Sunday so Ken and I could both take Kay to the hospital. She is awesome.

Poor sick Kaylie. She got her first IV, and chest X-ray she was so brave.

Well, that's all folks!

Holy Smokes! Those are some eventful weeks. I sincerely hope that Kaylie is feeling better. Tyler looks great with his braces is off - that's always exciting. And ALL of the pictures are super cute. It's nice to hear how you're doing!

I don't like "bloggers block". It got really bad for me when I was in school and I just haven't felt like blogging since. I find that knowing I am going to print the blog at the end of the year sometimes motivates me to find something to write about so the book isn't empty. Tyler's teeth look great. Its hard to believe that he will have to get them back on. Todd looks very happy that he lost that tooth. Megan keeps telling me everyday that she either lost a tooth or one is VERY loose. She can't wait to start loosing teeth. Congrats on selling the Burb, even though it felt like you just sold a member of your family. We sold our truck too. So sorry about Ken's job. That has got to be difficult, especially when he loves the job. For a part time job you might consider Build-A-Bear. They were awesome working with any schedule. They even let me work just one Saturday a month. Other than child care (I still watch Gavin) I don't know of any other part time work. All the jobs that would work the best are alredy taken it seems. Glad you are able to go back to school especially since you are excited about your new major. Will Ken actually graduate with more than one degree? Not trying to get personal, I just thought about having more then one degree when I garaduate but didn't know how that worked. As for your blog issues I kinda had the same problem (although no to the extent of your issues.) I went private but my family couldn't figure out how to access the blog after that. I went public again so people wouldn't have any more trouble accessing the blog but with a new address hoping that the spam that was attached to the blog would go away but unfortunately the spam is attached to my google account not the blog itself so I think the only way to get rid of it would be to totally change our google account as well. I haven't decided yet if I am going to go that far or not. If you get any good advice please pass it along. (Sorry for the long comment, you know that I can't stop talking sometimes.)

Love the pics. Your family is so fun. I can see why you LOVE being a mom. Thanks for the update.

Oh wow, I loved the post. I wouldn't call mine 'bloggers block' I would say I don't want to share my business quite yet...I think if I blogged right now, I would share way too much. Kind of like my last post. I love hearing about the things that go on in your home. I hope Kaylie feels better and I hope that Ken 'stupid' job gets figured out soon. I love seeing that tiny baby on your blog. It seems as if you have a lyman sized baby in your house LOL. Pretty cute still. I love it. Thanks for coming out of your 'bloggers block' and sharing. I loved it!!
