Roberts Review: April

I have had a traumatic weekend. I've chosen to release some built-up anxiety by vegging in front of my computer. Therefore this is a LONG post, but that seems to be the norm with my monthly reviews. Anyways....here we go.

April was a crazy, busy, stressful kind of month with some fun and laughter sprinkled about.

Ken and I finished up our semesters at UVU. Much of this month has been dedicated to writing papers, doing homework, and taking tests. Ick!

In the last 2 1/2 weeks we have been in the ER three times. Technically the last one was May 1st so it doesn't belong in this post. Plus, I'm trying not to think of head injuries at the moment. The other 2 visits were because Daric's elbows got dislocated. Although we have seven children and this has never happened before apparently it is very common. And apparently Daric is prone to it. It can happen simply by holding his hand and him pulling away, which is what happened when Kaylie was holding his hand. The 2nd ER doctor showed us how to take care of it at home if it happens again. No fun!

I'm not sure why but this month I took a bazillion (at least)pictures. Here are some of the many.....

We had a lovely Easter weekend.

As Emma would say....Um, a little help here. Too bad Daric can't talk.

McKenna is trapped inside those hampers and having a great time. I'm not sure why anyone would enjoy that, but McKenna sure did. Hmmmm....maybe the kids are on to something!

Yes....that is my 2 year old wearing my bra. What can I say...she is mature for her age.

PURE CUTENESS!

The Kiddos

My Men

Todd a.k.a. WORK-HORSE....This kid ROCKS!

This is Sydney's castle for her mid-evil fair at school. She busted this out 2 days before it was due. Way to hustle, Sydney.

Here's Mr. Daric sporting my new gardening hat...I don't have a garden yet. But at least I'm prepared.

What is he looking at you ask? Here let me show you....

This is the view from the back fence. Ken loves to go out and watch the soccer games. I guess they get pretty intense. I am totally thinking about selling hotdogs and gatorade over the fence. It could be my summer job to support my yard sale habit.

My cuties!

Since last years "fence incident" the bushes in the backyard have been held up by a tree branch propped against them. This month I went out to do some spring cleaning and tidy up the yard. I got a little carried away with the trimming and all the brushes came tumbling down. Now we have a big mess to clean up, BUT it opens up the backyard and although it doesn't look like the 'enchanted forest' we first moved into, I think it has potential.

Teamwork is AWESOME!

Todd made this sign after Daric decided to take some sunglasses swimming in the toilet. It's to inform Daric that he is not allowed nor welcome in the bathrooms. Since all of my children are handi-capped when it comes to flushing the toilet this was not a fun job to clean-up. SHEESH!

Lunch break = nap time

During the last week of the semester I neglected almost all of the housework. This is the laundry pile by the end of the week. This doesn't include what's already waiting to be folded or the loads in the washer and dryer. I worked on laundry for days, but unfortunately laundry never ends. This is about the same way my laundry room looks right now. Oh, the joy!

On top of the 3 Emergency Room visits we've had, we've also had a little baby with an ear infection. Sad guy, at least he loves his medicine.

This babies so cool he's gotta wear shades!

This is the place setting for Sydney's 6th grade etiquette dinner. All the girls and boys in the 6th grade walked to the nearest church building for a formal dinner/lunch in order to learn manners and etiquette. Sydney had a great time.

This is out little lady after her etiquette dinner.

This is our family sleepover in mom and dad's room. We all got cozy and read ourselves to sleep. Fun times! Hey, BTW-now that you've seen them, I don't want anyone getting jealous over my blue 1970's luxurious curtains. They're mine...all mine, okay? ;)

Well, that was our April...I can honestly say I hope May will be a little less exciting, but I know that is just wishful thinking.

Busy, busy! We've had a few incidences of "nursemaids elbow" and finally a doctor taught us how to fix it to avoid those ER visits.

You're my idol, though...doing all that you do!

Hey, at least you have curtains!!! Little or nothing hides my 30 year old broken windows with mold growing in them - Yuck!!!

You do have darling kids, congrats on finishing another semester, and if you ever learn the secret of getting kids to flush, please let me know. ;D

I don't think you have a month that isn't busy. Comes with the territory I guess.

Congrats on finishing school. You are a great example. I think I will take your lead and go back (when Alex is a little bigger though. I'm not super woman like you.)

Megan had an ear infection last month too. Unfortunately she won't take any medicine at all. That was not fun.

I'm glad you took a billion or so pictures. It makes me feel like I don't miss anything. I would really be dissapointed without all the pics and the monthly wrap-ups. You do a great job.
