I'm sitting in the American Fork Hospital with Emma where we have been since Saturday afternoon.
Ken and I planned a fun weekend for the kids to celebrate being done with this semester. They were so patient with all our homework. They deserved some fun. Friday night we got pizza, watched a movie, and had a sleepover in mom and dad's room. It was lots of fun.
Saturday we planned an outing to the Lehi Legacy Center to go swimming. The kids were laughing and splashing and having a great time until.....Emma got a concussion. Poor little thing stepped off the stairs coming from the slide and slipped and ended up flat on her back, slamming her head into the cement floor.
We took her to the ER. After doing a CT scan we found out she has a fractured skull. She luckily does not have blooding or swelling, but they admitted her overnight for observation.
She is doing okay today, she is very sore (she has lots of pain meds to keep her happy), she is hearing "rain" in her ear, and she can't hold anything down.
The doctor was in to check on her and feels she needs to stay one more night. At least until she can eat something without throwing-up. She is not thrilled but is looking forward to a visit from her siblings.
Emma is a trooper. This isn't exactly the adventure we were hoping for this weekend, but I'm so grateful it wasn't worse. Soon she will be feeling better and running around with rest of the troops. For now she gets to rest in a hospital bed one more night.

Oh my goodness! We will pray for Emma girl! She's the one who inspired Lily to wear panties instead of diapers all those years ago. Tell her we hope she feels better!
I'm so glad it wasn't worse. That had to have been scary. We hope you feel better soon Emma. Just keep thinking about all the fun you had with everyone before you had to stay in the hospital bed. You'll be home soon enough. For now, just enjoy the one on one time you are getting and know that we are all praying for you and love you.
I am so sorry - poor little Emma. The Lehi pool floor is REALLY slippery. I slipped and fell on it the last time we were there. I'm glad it hasn't been more serious. Hope she feels well soon.
Oh my goodness! I am glad she is going to be okay. Very scary!
