January Wrap-Up
Here is January at a glance....
These first two pics are actually on New Years Eve. We took the four oldest kids to see "Savior of the World" at the Conference Center in Salt Lake. It was an awesome night.
Here's Mr. Toddy feeling so cool! He can hold up the ceiling all by himself. He really is so cool!
I almost got to see my friend, Shelly's baby born, but I didn't. He slipped out way too fast. I missed it by 20 minutes. Darn it! Alex arrived only three or four minutes after Shelly got to the hospital, he was lucky not to have been born in the hallway or worse yet, the car. But doesn't Shelly look so good...Alex is about 25 minutes old.
Here's Little D with his good lookin' daddy.
Perched on Dad's head is a popular place to sit around here. Here's Todd during family scriptures. I don't think Ken minded, he got a nice scalp massage in the process.
This is Kaylie representing her class in the school geography bee. Good job, Kaylie!
We added 10 new fishy friends to our family. This tank was a Christmas gift from an awesome family in our neighborhood. It's been fun to be pet owners, we are enjoying our little fishy friends.
These eggs were also given to us by some friends in our ward. I took a picture of them because I had never seen green eggs before. I thought that was just something Dr. Seuss made up. But No, there really are green eggs.
Of course, we had Ty's birthday. Notice he has little helpers all ready to help him blow out the candles. How nice of them!
We took a little trip to Toy's R Us....I never let the kids ride on these rides, but this day I was feeling generous so I whipped out my quarters and divided the kids between the two rides. This picture was taken just moments before Daric fell out and went crashing to the ground. We left the stores with a 1 year old screaming from a head injury and a 2 year old screaming because the ride stopped. It was a lovely experience. Note to Mothers: Save your quarters...it's not worth the drama.
This is me as a brunette. (Please ignore the double chin and just focus your attention on the hair, Thank you!) For the first time in my life I have brown hair on purpose. Maybe you can't tell a difference because I let my roots grow out to a shamefully embarrassing point. But I was ready for a change...next time I think I'll go darker. Baby steps, baby steps.
This is my baby BOY dressed as a baby GIRL, thanks to his sisters. Good times for them, not so much for him.
This is sweet little McKenna -the fashion diva. She was quite serious about her self appointed job of combing out Kaylie's hair. Kaylie was very patient, and McKenna was in heaven.
This is a typical evening at the Robert's home, snuggled around the fire reading together. Ken usually reads (because he's in love with Nancy Drew, -don't worry I'm not threatened) but in this case Sydney is the reader for the evening.
Ah, here's my baby getting ready for his first day of work. Another awesome neighbor (we have lots of those) came over Sunday night before Ken's first day at his new job and gave him all he needed for his first day at work....A new lunch box (complete with lunch packed), a dollar for milk money, Coke for his coffee break, and a teaching manual, 'All I really need to know I learned in Kindergarten'...you know things like play nice, share, no hitting. Great reminders for a first day at work. I am proud to report that Ken did great...he gets a big smiley face for his first day of work. Good job, Baby!
My boys are not the only destruct-doe's in the house. Here are the girls wrestling in my 'non-wrestling room'. Maybe after they're done beating each other up I'll take a whack at them. Ooh, sounds good to me.
Here's another shot of my BOY dressed girly, but this time it wasn't the girls fault. It was mine. I ran out of clean bibs. I put this apron on instead, then I thought he looked so cute I had to make it a memory moment.
Wednesday night (thanks to more neighbors) we were able to take the kids to the circus. It was the kids first time ever. We had a good time watching the tigers, bears, elephants and some amazing performers.

Love you!
What a busy month you had. It's good to be busy. Congrats again on Ken's job. What a blessing. I'm so sorry that I didn't give you enough time to make the birth. I honestly thought we had more time. And I have to tell you that I really, really love your hair. It looks so good on you. It is fun to change your whole hair color now and then. I hope February is as good to your family. Can't wait to visit again.
You are HOT as a brunette! Seriously. Looks great!
And I really did enjoy the view of your month :)
