Utah Valley University owns the property behind our house. Until recently it has just been an empty orchard, but last month they started construction, turning the field into intramural playing fields. We've enjoyed watching the big tractors clear and level the field. Now, they are laying sprinkle pipe and putting in the fence.
This morning I had my bathroom window open when I heard some guys on the other side of my fence trimming the brushes (aka - hacking the crap out of my fence). So I went out back and asked them to please not ruin my fence in the process of their trimming. In reply, I hear a Spanish accent say...We no touch your fence. I then noticed that my fence was leaning in and many of the boards were knocked loose. I went storming around the other side. Three Hispanic guys looked at me with fear in their eyes...like I was a crazy lady. With some adrenaline pumping through me I'm afraid I was asking a bit crazy. I could see that I wasn't going to get any where with the three workers, but fear not, there are aways white guys standing around when Hispanic guys are working. So I stormed off to talk to them.
Long story short....I screamed like a woman possessed and told that moron to put my fence back the way he found it. I was mostly mad because he acted like it wasn't his fault. Like HECK, it's not your fault. Dummies! He said he'd fix it the best he could, but look at it!

Arrgh!

That really stinks....have you considered talking to the school, and asking for a better "fix"?
That is unbelievable!
I think that you have every right to act crazy and be furious with them. They had no intention of fixing the fence and probably hoped that you wouldn't notice it. Keep on them or they won't do anything. I feel for you.
I would for sure talk to the school! That's ridiculous.
