For a FHE lesson we told the kids about it, and asked them to think about things they could donate. I was so proud of them. Their hearts were so tender towards these poor people who had lost everything. They offered to give away things that were special and important to them, not just things they no longer wanted.
We delivered the items yesterday. We were able to donate clothes, blankets, shoes, toys, books, can food, rice, sugar, flour, and water. It was a neat thing to be able to be involved in.
We were able to fill the back of the suburban full of things that we will never miss. We only sacrificed very little of want we have. This project helped remind me how truly blessed we are. We have so much, some people have so little. It breaks my heart for those that are suffering. Our burdens fill so light compared to others. Our whole family couldn't help but feel so richly blessed.

That is wonderful. You and your family will certainly feel the blessings for years to come as they look back on this experience.

That is the best lesson you can teach your small ones. I think it's great that you had the chance to do something so small, for such a big cause...did I say that right?? LOL...AWESOME
